Aw man! You guys should've come to Nanowrimo, I bought cookies for everyone. :)
Anyway, hope everyone has a good March Break! I think we'll continue meeting every week (for faster readers) and people can drop in on the week they're done reading (I still haven't finished Rebbi's novel either. ... grr.)
Also, Matt, would it be possible for you to print out a hard copy of your novel? I didn't realize you only had it on the computer. It would be a lot easier if you had paper to pass around, as 1) my eyes burn and catch on fire if I read something on a computer screen for too long and 2) some people don't have time to read the novel if they have to go to a computer. If you don't have a printer, I could try to arrange something in the English Pod (Hannah printed hers out last year on the school's computer) if that's alright!
I'm trying to think of a good timeline for this... if we return edited novels to the author by the middle of may, would that be enough time for a final edit before school is out? Reason being I'd like to get our books bound before summer rolls around. I think we have a place that will print/provide the paper/coils/bind the book/etc. for $6 each.
Anyway, once again, have a good break everyone!

PS: Matt, I can't read your writing to get the email for your novel... Either that or the link [http://ckdu.dal.ca/~mrawle/misc./novel.doc] doesn't work...

To Jillian and Rebecca: I checked the photo, and everyone was at the meeting! That means that Rebby can have the extra booklet...

Hello my novel-ly crew! I haven't been on here in awhile... It's Katie, by the way.

I was reading the last post about the novel-swapping thing. And I know that everytime I see Hannah she says we're starting up in March... so I had some ideas
>I don't think that a week is long enough to read the novel. Maybe a few weeks.
> I think since the editing process is long... and bloody... that maybe it would be a good idea that after we swapp novels [I'm liking this 'in a hat' thing. For everyone, even. We can do it a couple of times.'] each meeting, we can read a part that we really liked from each novel. Just for moral boost, or whatnot.
> If everyone agrees, the editor can either make small marks when they come across plot holes or whatnot on the manuscript. Or not. I also think that maybe a letter from the editor suggesting changes to improve the novel would be useful too.
>We could swap novels a few times, right? Just to get different opinions. How many people actually finished their novels?

Oh, and I was wondering if I missed the picture today, for Yearbook. Or if there was one... I was at Kiwannis [YEAH GOLD!]

Alrighty, thanks guys!

Hey all!
I trust exam week went well. :)
Not sure how many of you heard the announcement a few days ago, but we will be meeting once again in March (provided I remember to ask Mr. Hughes if we still have that room...) to... *DUH DUH DUH* Swap Novels! So, if anyone would like to read over and edit their novels before that incrediably momenteous occasion (the words don't sound smart because I can't spell them) do it now! Of course, you don't need to, as people can ask for editing help during the novel swap. It might also be a good idea to see if you can get your story printed on paper (if not I'll see if we can hijack the computer lab again and kill a few trees).
I was thinking of making the novel swapping list now, but if I did then we wouldn't have anything to do at the meeting. I was thinking of letting the people who want to swap with specific people do that first, and everyone else can be put into a hat. :) How long does it take you guys to read a 50k novel? Is a week enough? That way we could swap stories each week until everyone has read everyone else's...
I'm also planning on making a small form to go with each novel when you swap. It will include a section for any edits the reader would like to point out (if the author wants readers to help edit), a feedback section, and some.. other much fun sections that shall remain a secret until that day. BWAHA!
Anyway, back to not understanding physics. Cheerio!

Halifax West High School will be presenting "Shakespeare For Dummies" on Tuesday, January 24th, and Thursday, January 26, at 7:30. (The doors will open earlier.)

This will only be the third performance in the new Halifax West theatre space (located inside the school), and is a hilarious combination of the plays "The Witches", "Actor's Nightmare", "Romeo And Juliet For Dummies" and "Hamlet For Dummies"- four short plays in one! There is a huge amount of talent in the Grade 12 class performing "Shakespeare For Dummies", and whether you come out for one or both nights, you won't be disappointed.

Admission is free with a food bank donation, and we hope to see you there!

I'm begging with a LiveHelp person now, trying to see if anyone has a relative in the states, if we could all order our books and have them shipped there. XD

EDIT: Chat InformationWelcome to Lulu.com! ! An online representative will be with you shortly. Your wait time will be approximately 0 minute(s) and 30 seconds. Thank you for waiting.
Chat InformationYou are now chatting with 'Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1)'

Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): Welcome to Lulu. How can I help you today?

flammula@gmail.com: Hello, I just visited your offer for free books for NaNoWriMo participants. Unfortunately, I live in Canada! Although I was wondering, I have a small NaNoWriMo writing group, and would it be possible - if one of us has a relative in the United States - to order free copies of our books and have them delivered to one address?

Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): One moment, let me check

flammula@gmail.com: Thank you

Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): Do you have the link to the offer?

flammula@gmail.com: http://www.lulu.com/nanowrimo/nanowrimo.php
Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): thanks

Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): Ok, well based on the terms outlined in the offer, as long as you are shipping to a domestic address, you should be fine

Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): You could each set-up your books in your own account and then just put the ship to address as your US friend

flammula@gmail.com: So we can order several (different) books to the same adress? (written by different people?)

Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): No, you would each need to do it seperately

Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): in your own accounts

Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): and just select the us shipping address to ship to

flammula@gmail.com: Alright, thanks a bunch! Appreciate it. :)

Hillary (Lulu Staff Tier 1): Your welcome

AWESOME job everyone, I'm so proud of you all. *wipes away a tear*

So thus concludes NaNoWriMo for 2005. You've got two months to finish/edit your novels, and we'll meet again in February for some peer editing/sharing of novels/book binding and stuff. Yay!

Oooh, and please post the pictures you took. Like, full size. Thanks so much. :)
